DEVOTIONAL:
Are you facing an impossible situation? As believers, we don’t have a hard time imagining God creating the universe or raising Jesus from the dead—but when it comes to the circumstances of our own lives, we often doubt Him.
Hebrews 13:8 tells us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” The God of miracles hasn’t changed. He is still the God who holds the foundation of the earth, gives orders to the morning, and places every star in the sky. He may not always perform miracles with the results we want or on our timetable, but He is still always working behind the scenes—and always has a higher perspective.
Consider the work He’s done in your own heart. Augustine said it this way, “I never have any difficulty believing in miracles, since I experienced the miracle of a change in my own heart.”
Don’t be afraid to pray big prayers today. Remind yourself of His miracle-working power, and remember the work He’s done in your life and heart. Let His perfect love cast out your fear.
PRAY:
Jesus, thank You that You are the God of miracles. Thank You for always working behind the scenes on my behalf. Build my faith today and let Your love calm all my fears. Help me to trust You with every situation that seems impossible. Amen.
