I am a captive
And I refuse to believe that
Freedom is real
I realize this may be a shock, but
“God is the one writing our story”
Is a lie -
Faking it till you make it?
That’s the equation for fullest life
surviving
Is more important than
Thriving
Who could even dare to claim
I have a God who cares about me
The only truth I know is this:
I am a lost cause
The biggest deception is that
I know my true identity
Today and in the days ahead of me,
There’s only disappointment
No longer can it be said that
Delight is our divine inheritance
It will be evident that
Scarcity is our only option
It is foolish to presume that
We can live a life of abundance through Christ
That was the narrative the world wrote for me.
But Jesus met me at my darkest day,
and flipped the script.
